I love my Sunday solitude. I can look through the window at what everyone else does, and let it wash by in waves, with me inside with my thoughts and my dog.
Hey, an earthquake here today. How about that? My dog chased his tail and one of the little stained-glass birds fell off my window. Other than that, not much effect. And I'm not entirely sure my dog wouldn't have just chased his tail anyway.
Welcome to Veteran Cosmic Rockers, believe-it-2-b. I hope the mindreader droids have been keeping your mug filled with rainforest brew and the band has been playing your song. Toucans often drift down from the rafters, and funky gibbons have been known to dance on the tables.
How can you not love the old films? Last night I watched Mark of the Vampire with Lionel Barrymore and Bela Lagosi, and it was not only the jerky-motion toy bats peeking through the windows. I was looking into another space and time as well. Fey women, blustering innocuous men, and glassy-eyed vampires swirled in the mists as the enchantments played out to the predictable ending. How very satisfying it was to visit 1935!
For a person who is anything but sedentary, my blog posts certainly indicate otherwise. I'm up at this early hour so that I can be on my road bike for a 25 mile ride to start my day, which is my usual weekend routine. There is nothing like a workout to encourage mindfulness. I listen to myself breathe in and out and focus on being.

Some days you can make the fishbowl your whole world. Isn't that really what everyone does?

The old and the new have been connecting in my life as I wander the path.
